We invite you to call us at 801-766-2461 to schedule your consultation with our dentist and learn more about how sedation dentistry in Syracuse, Utah, can benefit you.

IV Sedation

Intravenous (IV) sedation is a form of conscious sedation, which means that you will be aware of where you are and what is happening as well as being able to follow any instructions our dentist and team provide. This form of sedation provides medication directly into your bloodstream, allowing you to relax quickly so that you can receive your treatment in complete comfort. In fact, you may feel as if you slept through your procedure and be unable to recall the details of your visit to our practice.

IV sedation is frequently provided when patients receive oral surgery procedures, such as implant placement. Our dentist will meet with you prior to your procedure to discuss your medical history as well as your dental needs to determine if IV sedation is a good option for you. We will also monitor you closely during your procedure — while IV sedation is very safe, our team always prioritizes your health and safety to ensure that you are receiving the best possible care.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide sedation, also known as laughing gas, is a mild form of dental sedation provided through a nitrogen-oxygen mixture. It works via inhalation, and as you continue to breathe in this medicine, you will begin to feel more relaxed and at ease. Many patients experience a “floating” or euphoric sensation when receiving this form of dental sedation.

Our dentist may recommend nitrous oxide if you experience dental anxiety or fear during your treatments. It is often a good option for those who feel anxious about a treatment they have not previously experienced or who dislike the sounds and sights of the dental office. We encourage you to discuss your feelings and concerns with our team during your initial consultation or even before your visit so that we can make sure you feel comfortable during your time at Syracuse Dental & Implants.

Oral Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is provided to ensure your comfort during your treatment. Administered in the form of a pill or other oral medication, this type of dental sedation is simple and easy to use, providing the necessary amnesic effects needed to help you relax while also avoiding the extra costs and equipment of IV and nitrous sedation options. As with other forms of sedation, our team will monitor you closely during your treatment to ensure that you feel comfortable and are safe.

Our dentist and team will discuss your options and individual needs with you prior to determining if oral sedation is the best option for you. We welcome you to contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule your consultation with Dr. Segura.
